Nicotine
Smoking Cessation
Yes, all smokers need to quit - and many know it. The problem is, smokers who have tried to quit know it can be a very uncomfortable process. However, continuing to smoke can also be an uncomfortable process. Aside from the obvious health risks, many cities are turning to anti-smoking legislation in many public places, including restaurants and even bars. This may cause smokers to rearrange their social plans to accommodate their smoking, which can lead to feelings of being ostracized or shamed by their bad habit.
The good news is that there are new alternatives to assist in getting past the difficult period of withdrawal, including prescription medications, as well as over-the-counter remedies. If you or someone you love needs to quit smoking, or is having difficulty, please contact EMPAC for some ideas or suggestions.
Remember: visit your doctor before starting on any medication to stop smoking.
